Thought Young was outstanding in the first half, played Harkins out the game, faded away a bit in the second and Smyth was maybe the best player on the park for the full 90, but I'm going with Young.

McCaffrey had his worst game in a Ton shirt, his timing was way off all game, fortunately for him Brian Graham was there to take the Diddy of the match award rolleyes.gif

ThornTON
Darren Young, was dubious when we took him on trial as it had been so long since he had played and we needed a player who was ready to go from day one.

Luckily we got one, for a change. Must be kept on beyond his current contract, let Evans, Fitzharris and Toto go back to Hamilton, Celtic and Blair Drummond and concentrate on keeping him.

Pretts dangerous comment to make I would suggest...shame on you.

Young for me. Tidser a close second.

Why? Toto - song 'Africa', hence nearest safari park, where he could pick up lion s*** or something... he ain't a footballer!

You know fine well that it could very easily be construed in a different way.

I'm not outraged or anything, just pointing it out.

Aye you're right, it probably could be construed in another way when I think about it. It literally was my thought process though. smile.gif

To be honest, it's easy for people to find offence in just about anything if they try hard enough!

I think we need Fitzharris in the team as much as Young. I'd let Evans go, though.

I can agree with that, but can we afford him at the expense of Young. I'd say we need Young more, although would rather have Fitzharris in there than the half the jokers in the team!

Scott Fyffe, for Dundee - he seemed to be everywhere, all over the park....... happy.gif

It's Queen's Park. And I've been to every Morton home game, including the three bounce games. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

To me, anyone who values Young's value to the club over Fitzharris is missing the point regarding our failings. We are in dire need of a creative spark, with pace who can produce something for the strikers.
If our strikers aren't the greatest, it is an absolute must to get them good service - poor strikers will score goals from good service whereas even the best strikers in this division will struggle to score if they get no service at all (note 'in this division' - any striker who can consistently create chances for himself will be playing at a higher level than the first division).

Young's job - if playing along side Tidser - is to break up play and win the ball back. Not saying he's not good at it, or even potentially the best at the club at it, but that job could be done by somebody else... Jenkins, Bachirou, etc.

If it was a straight choice between the two I'd 100% keep Fitzharris.

Sorry I'm fresh out of 'Fan of the Year' medals.

When exactly did Morton play at Bo'ness?

Why do you keep reminding me that I "have chosen to ignore all posts from: vikingTON"?

I'm just assuming that you haven't responded to Chris' post, as I know that you're a troll who has little or no interest in Morton.

Keep the bickering to a minimum lads, it's a bit boring.

Kindly don't quote Master "I've not seen the team but I'll still pass more comments than anybody".

It defeats the purpose of ignoring him, but given Chris has quoted the second it would appear I was right. laugh.gif What a loser that boy is!

Over 90 mins Smyth was the guy for me, Young was second ..... we must keep him !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toto to go
Evans to go
Keep " if we can" Fitzharris.

Graham was a complete haddie
spurned two open goals when it was easier to score.

I went for Jenks, for me his workrate and position at the back post for crosses was ace....

Baffled why he was subbed instead of michelle tidser or numb nutz up front

Tidser was playing well, and did so for the full 90, but I agree that Graham staying on the park was amazing. I genuinely was dumbfounded when Kean was taken off.

Despite voting for Young as MOM, if I was moving Jenkins inside for anyone it would probably have been him, as I felt he was starting to look a bit leggy towards the end.

Salty, I'm not adverse to a sick joke now and again but FFS, your last one was about the Falkirk youth player that was electrocuted at the traning ground and now, having made a remark that can be quite easily construed as racist you back it up by saying that if someone takes offence it's their problem?

You don't exactly make it difficult for folk to look for reasons to find offence in some of that stuff!!

Anyway, went for Jenkins and was extremely disappointed to see him withdrawn.

Easily construed, but shows their mindset as that wasn't how it was meant! tongue.gif

Agree with you on Jenkins, whether it was Moore's plan or his own (this is more likely), to position himself on the shoulder of Lockwood who he's about 3 inches taller than (according to Wiki) at set pieces was pretty clever... unlike playing it long to Kean against two six footers...

Fair enough, its just that his lack of pace annoys me, even early in the game he seems to struggle with pace

I also thought Jenkins played well but at the same time the game turned in our favour again when we replaced our two wide players. I reckon if Fitzharris was brought on 15-20 mins earlier we'd have got the point our play merited - maybe all three.

Jenkins was also guilty of missing an open goal in the first half with a header from about 6 feet. It was easier to score than to miss. Although I am not his biggest fan he did play quite well apart from this miss.
I voted for Fitzharris in the hope that his loan spell is extended. He is the one player in the team who can beat a man and cross the ball.

If your tinking of the same chance I am then it was by no means easy and a great clearance off the line - it was nothing like the two sitters Graham missed.

Agreed. The only player that looks like something might happen when he gets the ball. The only player who knows how to cross a ball. 1st name I look for on the team list.

Nope I am thinking about the chance he missed unchallenged from about 2 yards bang in the middle of the goal. As I said it was easier to score. Surely someone else saw it. unsure.gif

Young was definately man of the match, he had a great game and put in 100% the whole game. thought jenkins also had a good game aswell coming in on the end of crosses from the right hand side.
