#1084274 Morton Vs Dafc - Saturday 3 February 2018

Posted by Scott on 03 February 2018 - 07:19 PM

Russell is a young player clearly suffering from a crisis in confidence. He'll come good again. I'm also not into the continual Doyle bashing. He's a very capable player at this level.

Doyle is competent defensively but very poor going forward despite his fitness and pace to get up and down the line.

Will Russell ever come good again? He's looked short of confidence for well over a year now. Duffy's tried everything, persisting with him, dropping him then bringing him back in. I suppose now that there is genuine competition for him then it's make or break. I hope for the sake of his career he gets back to his potential. Maybe he's better off starting fresh at a new club. I watched highlights from our games a couple of years ago this week and he used to have no fear whatsoever going forward and didn't hesitate making a pass etc. Hope he can get back to his best but I'd have Iredale starting every week ahead of Russell right now.

#1083848 Dundee United Match Thread

Just shows that as expected, with a little bit of ambition, this league was there for the taking.

An absolute minter for the board on that day when you compare where both clubs were 12 months ago. Not saying we should have gone explicitly for 1st place but the midden are nothing to be feared of, as we’ve seen every time against them this season. Wee bit more ambition as you say and we could’ve given a right good go at it and if we came 2nd, still in with a good shout of promotion.

Edit - we’ll no doubt give those **** a guard of honour too. **** that.

To be fair; Kirsty Gallagher.

If anyone knows about punching it’s Duffy.

Is that story actually true? Fair ****s to the Bald one if so.

I’d rather have James Craigen, who has also just been released by Falkirk.

The toilets are awful in general. Another point raised at the Q&A

It’s great going to wash your hands in the Cowshed toilet when it’s 2C outside and the water is freezing.

Feast on it.

'We deserved at least a point.'

'We didn't get outplayed in the middle.'

'It was just down to a scrappy goal.'

We absolutely didn’t deserve a point.

We absolutely did get outplayed in the middle of the park.

We absolutely gifted them their goal.

TTG.

#1082993 Q&a With Warren Hawke

Posted by Scott on 15 January 2018 - 07:37 PM

Collective revolt. My worry is that the damage is too far gone for most folk.

Let's say we changed owners and things started to look up, would we really be able to repair the damage?

I don't see nearly as many groups of mates heading for a day out to the game anymore.

Sad

The support is there. For whatever reason the semi-final attendance was poor but the Peterhead game about 6000? Turned up. People will turn up if Morton are doing the business on the pitch.

If I didn't have my season ticket I'd have chucked it after Saturdays performance. Totally scunnered like many others and doubt I'll be renewing next season unless there's some major changes

Same for me. After being a supporter since being 5/6 years old I’ve lost all interest.

#1082136 Thread About Ex Player

Posted by Scott on 09 January 2018 - 02:16 PM

Was a player? No, is a player. He's clearly and obviously one of the top three players at Morton in the past five years. Barrie McKay is another, and people didn't rate him either.

I didn’t rate McKay because he’s a bellend with a stinking attitude. It was clear there was a decent player in him but didn’t show enough of it and wasn’t up for a relegation battle. Contributed to one of the worst results in our club’s history.

Can't believe some people never rated him when he was here.

Agreed. Very decent player.

#1081746 Morton V Brechin

Posted by Scott on 06 January 2018 - 05:27 PM

If he had actually fielded one of the best central midfielders in the league in his 3-5-2 today, it would have worked no bother. Instead Murdoch alone was left to do the donkey work in the first half, alongside an attacking midfielder and a winger. And we let McManus go just a few weeks ago because we had too many central midfielders in the squad!

Sad!

Still scunnered we let McManus go  what the **** was duffy thinking.

#1081613 2017 - 2018 - Championship Updates And Scores

Posted by Scott on 05 January 2018 - 10:01 PM

It really is pathetic watching all of the teams around us strengthen whilst we’ve got no money to do anything apparently. What an advert that is. Moan that not enough people are turning up but to heehaw to entice anyone else to come along. Doing good in the community which the club should be commended for, will only take us so far. Most folk really are only interested in the first team and where the team on the pitch is going.

I’d actually forgotten about Thompson, but IIRC he did well at Raith last season despite them going down.

They’re no better than us. Couple of signings this month and we’d make a real go of the playoffs.

#1080750 Q&a With Warren Hawke

Posted by Scott on 29 December 2017 - 02:33 PM

What’s the ****ing point then  club showing absolutely zero ambition, yet again. Would’ve pulled in a fortune from the cup runs last season but there’s no money whatsoever. The reason there’s a dwindling Support is because it’s difficult to get tickets these days, and if you want to turn up on the day you’ll be charged more purely for being later. Add in a bang average side, it’s not hard to understand the problem here.
If this is the attitude from the club, it’s only going to get worse. Folk aren’t going to keep on funding midtable mediocrity for the forseeable future.
