Serious question, do we still have active members of the trust who regularly pay the £500 loan and the £10 membership? How many members does the trust have? Are there active drives to increase membership?

The St Mirren one has been a tremendous success for them and could likely learn from theirs as it is managed excellently.

Because the Trust are arse lickers.

To be fair, most folk in the Trust got involved for the right reasons, as opposed to some who viewed it as an avenue to fuel their self-importance and entitlement.

As for DDFR being inducted into the Hall of Fame - dearie me! Yes he was the financial clout that brought us back from the brink but whatever legacy he thought he would create crashed and burned as he played football manager with 'our' club.

Really enjoyed last night. I didn’t have much of an issue with Dougie going in but I can understand why folk would. The speech from the host was also a bit “Our great leader.” It is what it is though.

Let's remove that thin veneer of credibility.
Rae may have stopped the club from 'doing a Rangers' in 2002/03. He is however happy to leave the club in debt to the tune of £2 million to his golf loving dauphin though. A debt built up directly by Dougie's management, and one that Crawford Rae - quite rightly from his own point of view - will be offloading at the first possible opportunity to the lowest (worst) bidder.
Douglas Rae wrote off his own inflicted losses at the club via new share issues until precisely the moment that Golden Casket controlled the vast majority of the shares. Since then the club has plunged into the biggest debt sustained in its entire history, with Rae at the helm throughout.
You'd be as well inducting David Murray into Dead Rangers Hall of Fame. given such a ridiculous cop-out to a key CEO.

I actually agree with all of this, but the reason it doesn't bother me is that the HoF means nothing to me because the barrier for entry is so low. For DDF to take his place alongside Peter Weatherson and (eventually) James McPake is fine, because it sums up the criteria for entry ("being at Cappielow once" and "not actively setting it on fire")

Now before Gavin goes, I'd like to ask him one more question.

Do you like Abba?

For a club that has done little of note for the last 95 years, the notion of a Hall of Fame simply magnifies our diddyness.

Unfortunately the Trust committee think they are the Trust. The decision to honour Dougie last night certainly wasn't discussed at the recent AGM or communicated to the members.

I think there's around 130 members, the majority simply because they've forgotten to cancel their membership.

The inductees were decided between the club, supporters clubs and a public vote, not the trust.

The trust facilitated the night which raised several thousand for the youth academy. They are still taking donations if you'd like to contribute to the club.

Yeah, individuals who care about the club picked them and made sure their families knew their contributions were appreciated.
