To be fair Rotherham are not a big club by Championship standards and it took guts for him to make that move. He had much to lose and little to gain.

Still funny but.

Now before Gavin goes, I'd like to ask him one more question.

Do you like Abba?

I get the logic in calling a manager brave for making a move to a club who are pretty much guaranteed to be in a relegation battle meaning the job is inevitably going to be extremely difficult, but I can't agree that it took guts for Stubbs to make the move.

He's obviously still popular among Hibs fans for winning the cup, but as good as their cup run was there's no denying that he's an abysmal manager who did a dreadful job with Hibs overall. He was found out before he even left them having finished third below Falkirk, and he surely knew himself he'd have ended up sacked this season when he failed disastrously in the league for the third year running.

He's going to fail in every job he has and taking a job where failure was expected allows him to turn round after being sacked and say he had little chance of success anyway, survive the damage to his reputation and get another job, whereas being sacked by Hibs as he would have been by Christmas anyway would have had him struggling to ever manage again. He jumped from Hibs at the only point in his time there where he had any kind of stock, he worked his ticket superbly knowing he's a dud.
